L3 Power User Feature
Our power user feature is back! This week, we interviewed Javi, an integral contributor who’s been with us since our alpha, and is always offering us awesome suggestions on how to improve our product (P.S. you can do the same here).
1. What's your web3 story?
I invested for the in crypto for the first time in 2017-18, back then I saw a very strong economic proposition, but that was it. I didn't see a social component to it, there were hardly any communities and most of them were focused on IT and coding. During mid-2021, through Twitter, Discord and close friends, I started to see a strong social movement that I could no longer ignore and decided to go down the Web3 rabbit hole, mainly through Layer3, the community I was most involved with.
2. How'd you get started with Layer3?
Through Twitter, I saw a close friend of mine writing about different DAOs, and I decided to ask him how he was doing so. That's when I discovered Layer3. Winning my first contest was a great feeling, although that wasn't the only positive aspect I got out of Layer3 - after a few months of using Layer3 I realized how much I improved certain skills and how my knowledge about Web3 and crypto improved.
3. Is there an element you believe that every DAO or web3 community should have?
Communication. There must be constant communication between the core team and the community. Web2 has shown that very little consideration is given to the community/workers when making decisions. In Web3 you have to get that idea out of your head: be communicative with the core team, express your opinion, be critical and constructive, help them build.
4. How has Layer3 enabled you to contribute to different communities?
Every week Layer3 has added new contests from different DAOs. This gave me more variety in choosing which projects I could contribute to, and the ability to find ones that suited my profile best.
