Layer3 Power User Feature 🐐

This week in our user feature, we talk to thumbsupfinance, currently the #1-ranked user on our leaderboard with over 29,000+ XP 👍

1. What’s your web3 journey been like?

My web3 journey has been pretty magical. When I got into crypto last year, I saw right away that this was a subject with a complete lack of good information, so I started absorbing big amounts of information and sharing it in my own words. I guess people liked my approach, and soon I was getting tips to help fund content. Later I'd apply for a grant and become a fairly active member in PoolTogether's community, and through that discover Layer3 which opened even more doors for me!

2. What communities or projects have you contributed to?

I've contributed (made content for) to PoolTogether, Index Coop, Harvest Finance, Layer3, Notional Finance, Beanstalk, Sushiswap, OwnTheDoge, Phuture Finance, Celo, and The Sandbox Game. I also try to participate as much as I can in PoolTogether and Layer3's discords.

3. How do you think contributors differ from speculators?

I think contributors are forced to learn about protocols in a way that speculators often don't (to their own detriment). Technical analysis should probably be reserved for established/blue chip protocols. In my opinion, getting to know the value add of a protocol tells you much of what you'd want to know as an investor with a time horizon of one or more years (which is where the real gains are made).

4. What are you most looking forward to with Layer3?

I'm already so excited about the changes coming in the beta. Being able to see a sort of resume of all the content you've contributed as well as whether or not it was a winning submission is really cool. I think this will help contributors get noticed by DAOs and protocols. Layer3 has already led to a lot of opportunities for me, but I continue to be excited about the unique opportunities that will come up. And I'm excited to get to work 💪
